Watch:  5 Minutes to a Better Understanding of Collective Bargaining

Collective bargaining is the process by which school employees can negotiate their wages, hours, and working conditions with the school division. Individually, we do not have a lot of power to demand higher pay, fair treatment, or better benefits. But, if we negotiate with the boss as a group, we are much more likely to win.

Collective bargaining won’t happen automatically. We have to fight for the right to negotiate our contracts, which is why we started our campaign to bring bargaining to Suffolk Public Schools.
